STORY OF POPPY
Poppy was born March 2020 a happy and healthy chick. He came home with seven other chickens to make the first flock of eight for the Stone-Shumaker family.

At one week old it was discovered that Poppy's beak was not aligned. In time, the beak became more and more severe and Poppy was was not growing at the same speed as the rest of the chicks.

Tricia, Poppy's Chicken Mom, knew that something had to be done in order to help Poppy grow like his siblings. Tricia became part of an online support group specifically for special needs cross beak chickens. Tricia learned to make food that she could successfully hand feed Poppy.

Poppy continues to thrive, with the help of Chicken Mom.
